Both offices will be closed Thursday, November 26th.

We will be open Friday, Saturday, & Sunday in the Clyde office for walk-in sick clinic only.

Haywood Pediatrics wants to provide our families with some COVID-19 updates.  First and foremost our goal is to keep everyone (our staff and patients) as safe as possible, therefore, we are changing some of our office staffing and procedures in response to updated guidance from the NCDHHS and the CDC. This is a fluid situation and as such information is subject to change.

November 1st our schedules will change again to reflect the demand.

Canton office will be well visits only – morning and afternoon.

Clyde office morning visits will be well only – NO WALKINS at this time.  Please call to make an appointment.  Afternoon and evening clinics will be for sick patients only.

Weekend/Holidays – Clyde office only -  Please arrive between 10-11 am.  Stay in your car!  Someone will be right out.  If you need assistance from the parking lot you can call 828-452-2211 ext 1123. Weekend and Holiday hours are reserved for established Haywood Pediatrics patients or children without a local medical home. If you are interested in learning more about making Haywood Pediatrics your child's medical home, please give us a call.

Well visits may enter the building to check-in.  However, if you are scheduled for a well visit and you have symptoms of a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or allergy symptoms you will need to call in and reschedule your appointment. We will not be able to complete your well visit with these symptoms.

Sick visits will need to remain in your car & call into the number provided when your appointment is made.

Telehealth is still an option for some types of appointments – please talk to our triage team if you’re interested in a telehealth appointment.

Office policies:

  • Everyone 5 years and above is required to wear a mask while visiting our office.  Please do not enter without a mask.  If you need a mask, we will be glad to provide you one. We have phone numbers posted outside of both our offices.
  • Only 1 adult per patient is allowed in our office.  The only exception are newborn appointments – birth to 14 days - are allowed 1 parent and a support person during their visit.
  • NO WALKINS ALLOWED!  You will need to call our office for an appointment.
  • Do your checkin online through either text or email!  This is one of the most important things you can do for us!
  • You will be sent the COVID questions on the Phreesia check-in system.  PLEASE do your pre-visit questions on the link from either your email or a text.  You will receive a call from our office if you screen positive.  If you have any questions about this, please call our triage team at 828-452-2211 option 5.

Because this is a rapidly changing situation, the Health Department has published their telephone number to answer questions - 828-452-6675.

                                                        TELEHEALTH AVAILABLE

We have telehealth options available for current patients that have been seen in the past 12 months.

Telehealth allows you to connect with one of our doctors from your home by video chat. You can use your smart phone, tablet, or computer to communicate via two-way video chat with your doctor. In some cases we can do phone visits with providers if you do not have internet or a smart phone. Most virtual visits will require surveys to be completed prior to the appointment. These surveys can be completed via our patient portal. If you are not set up with our Patient Portal, please call the office for more information.

Nutrition Works is a collaborative pilot project involving MANNA FoodBank, the YMCA of Western North Carolina, and Mission Health Partners.  The goal of this work is to disrupt the negative impacts of food insecurity on patient health.   When money is tight, each day can mean a series of spending trade-offs that can have both short and long-term effects on health and well-being.  This year the work is beginning with six Mission clinics in Buncombe, Haywood and McDowell counties.  By incorporating simple screening questions into clinic intake forms, practitioners at Mission Health clinics will be able to “diagnose” food insecurity onsite within their practice. Once diagnosed, clients will be directed to the MANNA Food Helpline to find out how to get more food into their home, and connected with the YMCA’s Healthy Living Mobile Kitchen for access to fresh healthy food, cooking demonstrations and nutrition lessons with tangible, take home practices at each clinic location.  This collaborative approach will provide wrap around services to families experiencing food insecurity so that they have the resources and training to lead a healthy active life.  The YMCA, Mission, and MANNA hope that this pilot will set the stage for connecting more clinics across Western North Carolina with food distribution partners providing resources and support to patients in need of healthy food.

The YMCA Mobile kitchen is scheduled to be at Haywood Pediatrics in the Clyde parking lot at the following times:
